Jamaica. We miss it. Currently it has been anywhere between -10 to -30 the past two weeks here in Toronto. All we want is to be on a beach with 30+ degrees having fun with the friends and family of Fahreen and Tariq. We first met them last year when we were asked to cover their engagement party on Main Street Unionville. It was an immediate connection which led us to Jamaica with the newly engaged couple to cover their western style wedding at Grand Palladium Jamaica Resort; on the outskirts of Montego Bay.
We have done many destination weddings and every experience is different. But there seems to be a common goal with every couple who wants a destination wedding. They want it to be as fun and laid back as possible.
There was intermittent clouds and showers (sometimes thundershowers) throughout the week at Grand Palladium Jamaica. We were lucky enough to have a picture perfect wedding day. The ceremony was held on a cliff in a gazebo overlooking ocean. The evening sky was painted red and orange until it set which lead to an awesome lightning show coming from clouds surrounding the island at night. Thankfully the lightning was localized away from our beach as the reception was setup on the sand with 80 friends and family waiting to celebrate through the night.
The trip was fun while it lasted but 5 days went by way too quickly and we needed to fly back into Toronto midweek and prepare for another weekend of weddings.
